Carbon Integrity Monitors brings community-led monitoring to carbon projects: supporting community members to check if a carbon project is doing what it promises, right where it is happening.
Trained community members use the Carbon Integrity Monitor digital technology tool to monitor a carbon project’s integrity in real-time.
It makes sure that benefit-sharing mechanisms align with community needs, provides evidence of the reality of environmental and social impacts, supports the core carbon principles, and provides assurance of compliance with carbon project commitments. We will first bring it to Southwest Nigeria, at the Okomu National Park Carbon Project with plans to scale globally to other nature-based carbon projects.
